E-catalogue 26: Tools of the Trade

After a well-deserved summer break, we are back at work and offer our latest e-catalogue, Tools of the Trade, for your reading pleasure.

Our twenty-sixth e-catalogue focuses on works about penmanship and papermaking: the tools of the trade. Together, these subjects have fostered artistic creativity and the opportunity for learning. Long before the advent of electronic correspondence, handwriting was the primary form of written communication. Years of training and practice refined its grace and legibility for everyday life; but for some, handwriting went beyond utility and became an art form in calligraphy. Likewise, papermaking has developed into both a utilitarian and an artistic form of expression. We are happy to present books in this e-catalogue that explore both ends of this spectrum.
